Our Team

Director – Somphone Sisenglath
The team at MFC is lead by Director and Senior Microfinance Consultant, Mr. Somphone Sisenglath. He has been involved in the application of microfinance in Lao P.D.R. at both a grassroots and policy level since 1998. He initially joining the former Microfinance Training Center of UNDP/UNCDF as a Senior National Microfinance Trainer.

Somphone has explored the full range of microfinance models implemented in Lao P.D.R. He has served as a microfinance consultant on several projects for clients including the ADB, World Bank, UNDP, EU, GTZ and other INGOs in Lao PDR.

Somphone holds an MBA in International Business from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and a Bachelors Degree in Teaching from the National University of Lao PDR.

Core Microfinance Consulting and Training Team

Below are brief descriptions of our talented microfinance consultants and trainers.

Khamphanh Sanaphanh is a Microfinance Consultant at MFC with extensive knowledge in microfinance development issues. He is currently on assignment to Phongsaly province as a full-time microfinance consultant for the IFDP Microfinance Institution consulting project.

Areas of Expertise: Microfinance Institution Management, Rural Finance, Credit Operation

Somsack Senthavisouk, is a Microfinance Trainer and Consultant with MFC. His current areas of work is as a Trainer and Training Coordinator, and Savings and Credit Union (SCU) Consultant. He is currently on assignment to Savannakhet province as a consultant for the Rabobank/SNV Savings and Credit Union consulting project.

Somsack Senthavisouk was highly successful as the Team Supervisor of the field survey for the Asian Development Bank’s National Microfinance Survey. He has participated in organizing many microfinance training and workshop.

Somsack Senthavisouk holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the National University of Lao PDR.

Chantha Mingboupha is a Microfinance Trainer and Consultant at Microfinance Center. He also holds the role of Deputy Managing Director of Ekphathana Microfinance Institution (EMI).

Chantha was successively part of the team to set up EMI, the first licensed microfinance institution in Lao PDR. As a result he has extensive first-hand experience in the process of creating a microfinance institution in Lao PDR.

Chantha holds a Bachelors of Art in English as second Language and has completed extensive training on microfinance operations.
